DIESEL MECHANICAL FITTER (QUALIFIED)

Diesel Electric Power Ltd. provides refurbished industrial-scale Electrical Generators to Manufacturing and Service facilities where continuity of operations is a fundamental business requirement.  Based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, we have a small team of diesel fitters servicing our wide range of customers from service facilities to multinational organisations.

The Role

We are looking for a high calibre, dedicated and experienced Diesel Mechanical Fitter to join our existing workforce working out of our facility in Ashbourne and at various customer sites in Dublin and throughout Ireland.  The successful candidate will be part of the maintenance team with responsibilities for preventative and breakdown maintenance and the related documentation.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have served an apprenticeship and will possess both Junior and Senior Trade certificates, with minimum 3-5 year’s practical experience in a similar role.  Experience working on engine driven electricity generators is desired.  A team player with the ability to work with people and give technical advice where required.  Must be a clearly focused and a driven individual willing to use initiative.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • You will be responsible for carrying out preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance on generator equipment at our facility in Ashbourne and customer sites.
  • Initiate action plans to resolve and report appropriate actions taken, liaising with customers and the Maintenance Manager.
  • Execute tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Attend training courses where required and support in-house apprentices
  • Flexible approach to working hours, as business demands

Professional Experience:

  • Experience in a similar working environment with minimum 3-5 years’ experience
  • Experience working on engine driven electricity generators is desired
  • Proficient numerical ability to record interpret and analyse key process data
  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills
  • Ability to complete required work to industry standards
  • Proven problem solving and trouble shooting skills

Qualification:

  • Industry recognised apprenticeship or relevant mechanical qualification
  • Full clean driving licence

Meath, we have a small team of diesel fitters servicing our wide range of customers from service facilities to multinational organisations.

We are looking for a high calibre, dedicated person that has served at least 2 years apprenticeship to join our existing workforce working out of our facility in Ashbourne and at various customer sites around the country.  The successful candidate will be part of the maintenance team with responsibilities for preventative and breakdown maintenance and the related documentation.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be engaged in and have served at least 2 years of an apprenticeship with relevant practical experience in a similar role.  A team player with the ability to work with people and communicate well.  Must be a clearly focused and a driven individual willing to use initiative.
